The growing popularity and buzz surrounding coach Deion Sanders and Colorado’s football program has translated to the betting world and made the Buffaloes a gambling phenomenon.

Their success on the field has forced oddsmakers to reassess CU’s talent level and season-long potential, while the betting public concurrently has backed the Buffs with an overwhelming volume of action.

Following its 2-0 start, Colorado now has a regular season win total of 6.5 at DraftKings with the over juiced to -170. It entered the season at 3.5 wins, after winning one game last year. Additionally, their national championship odds have lowered from 300-to-1 longshots to 80-to-1 ($10 bet nets $800).

Last weekend’s home opener against Nebraska drew lopsided action from the betting public rarely seen. Colorado had more wagers placed on it than any other NFL team.

The Heisman odds have also shifted for standouts Travis Hunter and QB Shadeur Sanders. Earlier this summer, Shadeur’s odds of winning the prestigious award were +12500 and he now sits at +3300. Hunter’s two-way versatility has led to his odds moving from +15000 to +2500.

Colorado’s next game is against in-state rival Colorado State. Here is another video on how Doug is betting this matchup.

  • Point spread: Colorado -23.5
  • Money line: CU -2000 / CSU +950
  • Over/under: 59.5

Both ESPN and Fox Sports are bringing their pregame shows to Boulder this weekend.
