Today seems like a great Thursday to gamble on some NBA action. Here is a quick run-through of the top three picks from our daily Expert Pick tracker:
The Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets are currently on vastly different trajectories, rendering a large point spread unsurprising ahead of their matchup on March 16. (DEN -13.5) Regardless, the champion-hopeful Nuggets have lost four games in a row despite being favored by at least 8.5 points entering three of those four contests. The Pistons were perceived as arguably the NBA’s worst team even before losing talented players like Cade Cunningham, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Isaiah Stewart to injury, now filling out their rotation with a host of unproven, young talent. Given Denver’s recent struggles, experts are giving Detroit a slight edge vs the Nuggets against the spread.
The Sacramento Kings look to “light the beam” for a 42nd time on Thursday. Going against a Nets team that has been playing some inspired basketball lately, the Kings will have their work cut out for them. Expect a high scoring game whenever Sacramento’s involved, leading the NBA in PPG this season. The Nets will only go as far as their newly acquired star, Mikal Bridges, takes them, so look for him to have an up-tick in scoring against a team that struggles mightily in isolation and three-point defense. Experts strongly predict Sacramento’s historically great offense to keep them in this game and help the Kings cover +2.5.
If you haven’t tuned in to too many Oklahoma City Thunder games this season, please do yourself a favor. The NBA’s youngest squad plays with great joy and a youthful exuberance that often jumps off the screen. OKC has won six of their last seven games, scoring over 120 points in four of those contests. Contrarily, the Toronto Raptors have lost four of their last six games, struggling with their shooting efficiency and minimizing turnovers in most of these matchups. Experts overwhelmingly predict OKC to keep this one close, covering the +5.5-point spread.
