Mega Football Weekend Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

It’s rivalry weekend in college football and playoff races in the NFL are heating up. There are a lot of games with big implications. Here are some of the games that might be good to bet on.

Season Record: 14-19-3

No. 3 Michigan @ No. 2 Ohio State (-7.5)

Pick: Ohio State

The winner of this game will likely solidify their spot in the College Football Playoff, while the other will be in danger of missing out. Both of these teams struggled to beat lesser opponents last week. Ohio State should be the play here though. Even in a close game against Maryland, they had the pass rush to close out the game last week. Michigan struggled on offense against Illinois. With the Buckeyes being at home, it they should be able to pull away and cover.

Ravens (-3) @ Jaguars

Pick: Ravens -3

The Ravens looked sloppy on offense a week ago, but while the Jaguars might be better than their 3-7 record indicates, they aren’t getting enough points here for to pick them. The Jaguars pass rush is not good at all, and even if they do get there, Lamar Jackson is hard to take down. Even though Jacksonville is coming out of a bye week, the Ravens are the pick here.

Saints @ 49ers (-9.5)

Pick: 49ers -9.5

This is the part of the year where the 49ers usually hit their stride, and they looked great in a blowout win against the Cardinals on Monday Night Football. The Saints did beat the Rams a week ago, but that was a battle of two disappointing teams. Andy Dalton is still going to be starting for New Orleans. The 49ers defense should be able to hold things down, and they have plenty of weapons to cover the spread at home.

Bears @ Jets (-6)

The Bears have played a ton of close games as of late, and Justin Fields is getting a ton of praise for his play. It will be a tough test against the Jets’ defense this week. However, New York has benched Zach Wilson and is going with Mike White. While White is a fun story because of the win against Cincinnati a year ago, he has had a knack for throwing interceptions early in his career. This game could turn on its head with one turnover. Stay away from betting on this one.
