UFC 286 Fight Night is set to take place on Saturday, Mar. 18, and it features an exciting main-event rematch between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. The two fighters have faced off a few times already, with Edwards pulling off an upset victory despite being a huge underdog.
Edwards, who has a record of 20-3, is known for his well-rounded skills and has won eight consecutive fights since his loss to Usman back in 2015. His most recent victory before Usman came against Nate Diaz, where he dominated the fight for most of the rounds, but almost lost in the final round due to a late rally from Diaz.
Usman, on the other hand, has a record of 20-2 and was the UFC welterweight champion back in 2022. Before his loss to Edwards, Usman was on an impressive winning streak, defeating some of the biggest names in the division, including Gilbert Burns, Jorge Masvidal, and Colby Covington. Usman is looking to avenge his previous loss to Edwards and regain his dominance in the division.
The odds for the rematch are in favor of Usman, with him being the favorite at -245, while Edwards is the underdog at +205. However, Edwards has proven himself to be a formidable opponent and is more than capable of pulling off another upset.
In the co-main event, Justin Gaethje will take on Rafael Fiziev in the men’s lightweight division. Gaethje, who has a record of 23-4, is known for his aggressive fighting style and has won multiple fight night bonuses. Gaethje’s most recent fight against Michael Chandler ended in a loss, but he is looking to bounce back with a victory against Fiziev, who has a record of 12-1 and is known for his striking skills. He has won his last two fights and is looking to make a name for himself in the UFC by defeating Gaethje. The odds for this fight are in favor of Fiziev (-225) with Gaethje in the underdog position at +190.
Overall, UFC 286 Fight Night promises to be an action-packed event for MMA fans worldwide. The rematch between Edwards and Usman is sure to be a thrilling fight, with both fighters looking to prove themselves.
