After adding two-time World Series champion Alex Bregman, the Boston Red Sox saw their win total increase from 84.5 to 86.5 wins for the upcoming season.

The Gold Glove third baseman is slated to play second base for the Sox. He also played shortstop in college at LSU.

Boston remains the third-highest total in the competitive American League East, behind the New York Yankees (91.5) and Baltimore Orioles (87.5). The Toronto Blue Jays are the lowest with 78.5 wins.

The second overall pick in 2015 has served as a key figure to Houston’s ascension to becoming a perennial contender and now provides a much-needed right-handed bat for Boston and also adds some veteran leadership.

Boston also added pitchers Garrett Crochet, Walker Buehler and Aroldis Chapman this offseason.
