The College World Series is down to eight schools from just two conferences vying for this year’s baseball championship. Four SEC and Four ACC schools are headed to Omaha with the University of Tennessee as the +260 betting favorite.

The Super Regionals round were anticlimactic with seven higher seeds making it through to the final two brackets. Play begins on Friday with #4 North Carolina taking on #12 Virginia, and #1 overall seed Tennessee battling #8 Florida State.

The SEC has won the last four titles and this year it will be represented by the Tennessee Volunteers, Kentucky Wildcats, Texas A&M Aggies and Florida Gators. The ACC programs with a chance to win the title are the North Carolina Tar Heels, Virginia Cavaliers, Florida State Seminoles and NC State Wolfpack.

Many of the nation’s top players, such as Florida’s Jac Caglianone, Texas A&M’s Braden Montgomery, Florida State’s Cam Smith and Tennessee’s Christian Moore, will be taking the field. Moore and the Vols swept through regional play and then held off Evansville 2-1 in the Super Regionals.
