Duke standout freshman Cooper Flagg is now a significant Wooden Award betting favorite with -525 odds at DraftKings, following subpar stat lines and a loss by Auburn’s Johni Broome.

Just a week ago, Broome was a -250 favorite. However, the senior has registered single-digit points and rebounds in consecutive games. Plus, on Tuesday the top-ranked Tigers lost at #22 Texas A&M, relegating Broome to the second favorite with +350 odds.

Broome was the favorite until he sprained his ankle in mid-January. He then dropped to a +550 longshot after the injury but he ended up only missing a few games.

On the same day Broome injured his foot, Flagg delivered a signature performance with an ACC freshman-record 42 points in the Blue Devils’ win over Notre Dame. That sequence of events pushed his Wooden Award odds to -600.

The 6’9″ freshman is currently averaging 19.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists, leading the team in all three categories, as well as steals and blocks.

#2 Duke wraps up the regular season at rival UNC, while Auburn hosts rival Alabama.

Voters may submit their ballots any time between March 18 and March 25. That overlaps with the NCAA Tournament’s first weekend, which ends on March 23. Thus, a significant upset could sway the results, given both Auburn and Duke are currently projected as #1 seeds.
