How To Replace Trey Lance On Your Fantasy Team

By Ryan Bologna

Many came into the fantasy season depending on Trey Lance. Those people have a hole at the quarterback position due to a season-ending ankle injury. We’re here to give you some of the best options to pick up to replace Lance.

Jameis Winston

It’s not the most flashy name, but he has been popular in our Waiver Wire series so far this season. It was reported yesterday that Winston is playing with four fractures in his back, so that might give some people pause. Especially those who just lost a quarterback for the season due to injury. Despite Winston’s poor performance against Tampa Bay, he has cut down on turnovers since arriving in New Orleans. He could be a decent option to replace Lance in your lineup.

Jared Goff

Goff seems to have found a reliable number one receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown. The former first overall pick had a great game against the Commanders in week two. Goff also has a reliable receiving back in D’Andre Swift. The Lions offense might be better than people expect, so Goff could be a good target to pick up.

Jimmy Garoppolo

If you believed in Trey Lance enough to draft him, you probably believe in Kyle Shanahan’s system. Why not pick up Garoppolo? Even if he is not a long-term solution for you, he could be a decent option for a couple of weeks while you try to negotiate a trade. There’s a chance Garoppolo was going to replace Lance at some point in this season anyway. You might get similar production to what Lance was going to give you in the first place.
